Wake up. Put the glasses on. See the table for what it really is.
Most people eat whatever the world puts in front of them — whatever is advertised, whatever is cheap, whatever is fast — and never ask the one question that matters: What did Yahuah call food?
The answer was written down at the very beginning.
The Original Provision
“And Elohim said, ‘See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.’”
Bereshith (Genesis) 1:29
The first food provision explicitly given to mankind was seed-bearing plants and the fruit of trees. Before there was sickness in the world, before there was a pharmacy on every corner, there was a garden — and the garden was enough. This is the starting point. Everything after it is history.
What Changed After the Flood
After the Flood, Yahuah permitted flesh as food:
“Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.”
Bereshith (Genesis) 9:3
Notice what the permission did — and what it did not do. It widened what man could eat; it did not end Yahuah’s authority over the table. The same Creator who gave the permission would soon draw lines within it.
Clean and Unclean
In Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 11 and Debarim (Deuteronomy) 14, Yahuah named plainly which animals are clean and which are unclean — and the unclean were never called food at all. Not “eat less of them.” Not “only on feast days.” Never food.
Read those passages closely and ask one honest question: where does Scripture ever reverse it? Nothing in these passages says that animals designated unclean suddenly became clean. That silence matters — and we will not pretend that passing centuries did what the text never did. What Yahuah set apart in the wilderness, He set apart to protect His people then, and His protection has not expired.
Many today have been taught to call on Him by borrowed names. We will not. His Name is Yahuah, and the Name of His Son — the only Name given under heaven by which we are saved — is Yahusha HaMashiach. The names matter, because the covenant is in the Name.
The Example of Daniel
With those distinctions in mind, Daniel’s story comes into focus. Taken into the king’s palace in Babylon, he was offered the king’s table — rich meats and wine, the best the empire had. Food that would defile him. Daniel refused it.
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies… ‘Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.’”
Daniel 1:8, 12
After ten days, Daniel and his friends stood visibly healthier than those eating from the king’s table (Daniel 1:15). Daniel’s account gives us a powerful example of choosing simple provision over the king’s table — faithfulness first, and Yahuah honored it.
The Temple You Carry
“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Ruach HaQodesh who is in you, whom you have from Elohim, and you are not your own?”
1 Corinthians 6:19
If the body is a temple, then every meal is an act of stewardship — or of defilement. We would never pour poison on the altar and call it worship. Why do we do it to the body Yahuah entrusted to us?
Healing and Wisdom From His Hand
Yahuah built healing into creation itself:
“Along the bank of the river… shall grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves shall not wither… Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.”
Yehezqel (Ezekiel) 47:12
“…and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
Revelation 22:2
Herbs, leaves, roots, clean foods, water, rest — provision written into the earth from the beginning, there for those wise enough to receive it.
The Warning: Pharmakeia
And now hear the warning that ties it all together:
“…for by your pharmakeia all the nations were deceived.”
Revelation 18:23
The Greek word is pharmakeia. In the world of Scripture it meant sorcery — the crafting of potions and drugs to deceive, to dull the senses, to open doors that should stay shut. Our modern word “pharmacy” descends from it, but descent is not definition, and we will read the text as it stands: Babylon falls, in part, because her pharmakeia deceived the nations.
Read it as a warning for every age, ours included: beware anything — potion, product, or promise — that profits by keeping you dulled, dependent, and deceived, while calling itself your cure. Test everything against the truth. That discernment is the point of the verse, and it has not expired either.
We say this carefully, and we say it whole: Yahuah’s herbs and clean foods are His design for daily nourishment and strength. If you take prescribed medicine, don’t throw it away on the strength of a web page — pray, seek Yahuah, and walk in wisdom with everything on the table before Him. The world’s system does not know your name. He does.
Come Back to the Table
So the invitation stands, as it has stood since the garden:
- Eat what Yahuah called food.
- Refuse what He called unclean — it was never food.
- Return to the garden pattern: seed, fruit, herb, and clean provision.
- Treat your body as His temple, because it is.
- Call on Him by His true Name — Yahuah — and on His Son, Yahusha HaMashiach, the Name above every name.
The world will keep selling sickness and calling it normal. You were made for an older, cleaner, truer table — and the seat with your name on it is still set.
Come back to the table.
